Family Services Department
Children & Youth
At SoulMind Counselling Services, our Family Services Department provides compassionate therapy for children (age 5+), teens, and adults. We help clients manage anxiety, depression, ADHD, OCD, trauma, grief, relationship conflict, and life transitions. Our focus is on building emotional regulation, resilience, and communication skills while addressing stress, low self-esteem, and interpersonal difficulties, supporting families in overcoming adversity and restoring connection.

The Approach
Therapy That Speaks Their Language
Sessions are trauma-informed, developmentally sensitive, and built around how children actually communicate — which is rarely sitting in a chair talking about feelings. Approaches include art and play-based therapy, CBT, DBT, Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, narrative therapy, solution-focused therapy and mindfulness practices.
Bilingual care. Both of our children’s clinicians offer therapy in English and French. Les deux cliniciennes offrent des services en français.
Children don’t always have the words for what they’re feeling, and they don’t need them here.

Big Feelings, Little Kids
No diagnosis required.
Young children experience big emotions but don’t always have the words or skills to understand what’s happening. Big Feelings, Little Kids provides a fun, supportive small-group environment where children learn about emotions through stories, play, movement, creative activities and age-appropriate coping exercises.
